Profile Dasien has absolutely no idea how she got her super strength, and quite frankly, she doesn't care. She's a hero, and that's all that matters to her! Michelle Knight was only an infant when she was exposed to special virus vectors. Dubbed that Dasein virus, it transformed Michelle Knight into a super-powered dynamo known as Dasien! Dasien is extremely powerful, lightning quick, and resistant to harm. Today, Michelle Knight is a popular writer for Century Magazine and teammate Parker Lynn Bailey, writer for the Stratford City Tribune. Parker is the only one who knows Dasien's secret. Dasien's abilities, the result of genetic engineering, are quite remarkable. The composition of her muscles are deceptively lean for the power they pack. She can lift the weight of a dump truck and outrun a cheatah. She's also quite nimble and agile. Sometimes, Dasien has a tendancy to show off in ways that get her into trouble. Michelle loves her powers, but sometimes she just wants to be a normal girl. She uses her dual identity to escape the trials of tribulations of being a super-sexy superhero. Or maybe she's a hero to escape the life of a regular girl. Who knows? Other Factors Although maskless, Dasien owes the secrecy of her identity to a convenient and controversial vigilante law. The law, not actually written for urban heroes in mind, was actually passed during a time of war, when costumed super beings were commonly used for infiltration. It nonetheless provides protection against revealing a superhero's identity, which remains punishable as an act of treason. Although many hero identities are on file, the information remains top secret, and very few government personel are allowed access. Some of Dasien's fellow heroes worry for her safety, but as Michelle Knight's personal appearance remains relatively unknown, she's relatively safe from having her identity compromised. ...for now. Superhuman Powers Elevated strength, power, speed, and reflexes. Resistant to injury. Rapid healing. Source of Powers and Weaknesses Although completely unaware, Dasien derives her powers from a genetic miracle retrovirus that replaced a section of her normal DNA with engineered super DNA. When she was only an infant, the viral agent was injected into her body turning her into the mighty female powerhouse she is today. Her only limits are that of fear and inhibition. She is far more capable than of which even she is aware. Background and Design Dasien's design can be attributed to lingerie magazines; particularly Frederick's of Hollywood. Special Appearances Appears in some crossover events, namely Super Wars, Crossoverlords, and Energize/Dasien. Name Meanings and Puns Dasien was formed from the word "dashing" (i.e., heroic). Originally, the name was to be pronounced with two syllables, but over time, it eventually evolved into three (pronounced dah-SEE-ahn). The German word "dasein" was later incorporated into the story as the super-powered viral agent. The relation between Dasien's name and the virus agent from which she gained her powers remains, at the point, a mystery. |
